This isn’t my idea – forced perspective comes from hundreds of years ago – basically an optical illusion to the viewer. I once read an article that said people are more likely to call a girl ‘pretty’ rather than ‘strong’. So from that moment on, I made a conscious effort not to fall under that statistic. I squeeze them both and say how gorgeous they are, of course, but we also praise their strength, their cleverness and their bravery. It’s no surprise then that Penny isn’t interested in stereotypical princesses, but she does love Merida from Brave (a Scottish badass princess). So today, we booked her onto an archery lesson followed by a horse-ride, and now she’s convinced she’s actually her. Think she might be taking the ‘you’re so strong’ comment a bit too literally, though ? Despite the fact my name is not Charles emes and I'm not available to buy today with 0% interest over 3 years from DFS, every single time I go down on my knees to retrieve discarded objects, I'm set upon by 2 small curly haired offenders who think my spine is a sofa. What's this mama?! — One of the most often asked questions when we're out in our field or exploring in the forest. And honestly I usually don't know. Our curiosity leads to learning together and it's satisfying to be able to know what's growing around us … and hopefully make something of it! — @herbalacademy's wonderful new Botany & Wildcrafting course is perfect timing as my children and I have desired a deeper understanding this Spring of not only identifying but also feeling confident to make with what we forage & gather, there is so much creativity afforded here, even for little Lucy! — It might not be a totally conventional course for homeschool but we're all incredibly excited to be botanists & wildcrafters! ?The link to the course is in my profile, watch the video it's so inspiring.
