What will dad do when mom is away? The bond between a dad and his baby is much different than a mother and her baby. They are much likely to have fun with them and be their first playmate.
Just take a look at why a mother shouldn’t leave the baby alone with a dad. These hilarious pictures will prove why!
1. This improvised swaddling blanket.
This ingenious dad just proved to his wife that they don’t need to swaddle the baby in a blanket anymore. Clearly, he’s taken care of the problem. Who knew those pajamas could go that high?Well, the baby doesn’t seem to mind.
2. Put my hair in a bun!
Women out there have their own memories of their dads disastrously trying to tie their hair. This little girl just got hers. Poor kid. She probably just wanted her hair up in a neat bun. Unfortunately, dad can’t let a good pun pass.
3. These Cara Delevingne eyebrows.
Ladies, this is a reminder to keep your makeup kits locked away. This little baby’s dad definitely got his hands on his wife’s eyebrow products and ran away with it. And thus, the poor kid got Cara Delevingne thick eyebrows.
4. He’s babysitting his daddy.
It looks like this dad had a long day at work and fell asleep while watching his son. Good thing the boy is behaved enough to guard daddy as he snores away in his crib. Unfortunately, mom came home before he woke up.
5. Dad got his hands on a label maker.
When this kid’s mom bought a label maker, she thought she’d be using it to organize the things of their new baby. But dad got his hands on it first and decided to test it out. Well, safe to say it works.
6. This long-distance bonding in the garden.
His kid wanted to ride the swing in the sun, but he also wanted to relax in the shade with a beer, so a compromise was born. With a few yards of rope, this dad got the best of both worlds.
7. Nap time for the kiddos is chore time for dad…
When these boys’ mom told her husband that the kids need to nap, this isn’t what she had in mind. Unfortunately, dad had some chores to do and errands to run. So, the kids had to come with him.
8. Check out this water-baby!
It looks like someone’s a Juggernaut fan! A creative dad put some fruit leftovers to good use and made his kid a cool helmet. And it seems like both of them had a good time while mom was out.
9. Power nap with the baby.
Poor dad. He must have been so tired from working and parenting that he quickly fell asleep on the floor after tucking his daughter in bed. Imagine coming home to this sight! You’ll feel both sorry for the dad and have a good chuckle as well.
10. The cold never bothered them anyway.
This baby and his dad are ready to face the cold weather outside as we can see from this cute photo. Swaddled in his dad’s jacket, this little kiddo would definitely stay warm and cozy all day long.
11. Or this pin-art baby.
This dad was just walking around the store when he came upon one of these pin art toys. Of course, he can’t pass up such a great opportunity to create unique art. Some moms might frown upon this, but that baby looks like they are having fun.
12. A look into the future.
Like father, like son, eh? Well, this dad looks like he can’t wait for his little boy to grow up, so he fast-tracked him a bit with some eyebrow products and probably some of his wife’s contouring makeup as well.
13. He’s the king of multi-tasking.
He has to burp his baby, and then the baby had to sleep, but he also has to eat. So, why not do it all at the same time? It looks like this dad quite literally got to have his cake and eat it, too. Now, that’s some dedication to cake and parenting.
14. Everything for his little girl.
When this daughter told her dad that she wants a swing, he just had to make it happen. Not having a tree to tie it to, he had to find another way. And voila! You got to admire the dedication this dad has in making his daughter’s dream come true.
15. A case of the Benjamin Buttons…
Who says dads can’t be trusted to dress up their kids? Sure, they won’t turn out the way moms imagine but hey, isn’t this little boy dressed as an old man for school cute? He even has a cane to match!
16. Serving the master.
When mom’s away, dad plays. Mom may find it hard to get her kids to do things in the house, but this dad surely doesn’t. He got his kids ‘serving’ him as he enjoys his time playing video games.
17. Vroom, vroom…
What a future ladies man! This little cutie got a surprise makeover from his dad. We have to applaud the man’s style and attention to detail. A beard, a bandana, a muscle shirt, and a tattoo. This kid is ready to join the Hells Angels.
18. One of these things is not like the other…
This dad saw the uncanny resemblance between his baby’s head and this small kiwi, so naturally, he picks a sticker off one and sticks it on his baby’s head. The more you look at this picture, the funnier it gets.
19. Hey, if it works!
This is a classic case of ‘it looks stupid, but it works.’ Not letting a lack of hair ties ruin his daughter’s day out, this dad brought out some handy zip ties to keep her hair in place as they enjoy their day outside.
20. This guy is a little tied up.
Since this little cutie won’t listen to dad when he says not to crawl away, dad thought of an unusual solution: tying his kid’s onesie to the crib leg. We just hope he untied the boy before mom came home.
21. Who ordered the baby quesadilla?
We guess this baby’s family is having Mexican for dinner and her dad wanted to turn her into a quesadilla for some reason. Those holes for the eyes, nose, and mouth are superb. Maybe add some cheese on top next time?
22. Mom’s maternity leave is up.
When this man’s wife had to go back to work after the birth of their baby, he needed to find a way to trick the little one into thinking that he’s still breastfeeding. And so this crazy-looking contraption came to be.
23. A final touch…
…and this cute baby’s costume is complete. Just don’t tell mom that dad rummaged through her makeup bag again to make this happen.
24. Grocery shopping with daddy.
Since daddy allowed her to bring her little shopping cart at the grocery store, they might as well put it to good use. Of course, what better way to fill it up than with bottles of dad’s favorite beer.
25. Is this reverse parenting?
This cute girl got tired of her dad’s slow shopping, so she decided to take matters into her own hands and fast track their trip. Look at her pushing with all her might! Now that’s determination.
26. Packing for the weekend.
We bet the mom is regretting her decision to let her husband pack a bag for their daughter for the weekend. Well, at least, he actually did pack the bag. He just went a step further to put their daughter in it.
27. Something seems to be missing here…
We hope this picture was taken in the summer because this outfit definitely won’t keep this cutie warm in cold weather. Hey, aren’t overalls supposed to be worn with a shirt underneath?
28. Here’s an improvised shopping cart.
Since they’re only shopping for a few things, this kid’s dad probably thought it to be a great idea to just use the kid’s stroller as a shopping cart. Too bad, the kid’s probably feeling a little cramped in there.
29. This is a real balancing act.
Now, that’s talent! Both on the baby and the dad’s part. We bet the little kid has got to stay exceptionally still for dad to balance all those treats on his face without tipping any over.
30. He had too much to drink…
It looks like dad gave the baby the wrong bottle again. Tsk, tsk. Mom’s definitely not going to be happy to know the baby’s been drinking again. Good thing this photo is just hilariously staged.
31. Bath time fun!
When you ask your husband to bathe your baby, expect to see pictures like these. Those bubbly suds are simply too useful to just wash away.
32. Little Charlie Chaplin!
We can only think of two reactions this baby’s mom had when she saw him– happy or suspicious. Is the kid dressed as Charlie Chaplin or Adolf Hitler? Well, either way, his dad better have a ready explanation.
33. This little guy’s all grown up.
Now this one’s extra funny. Is it a David Byrne tribute or just a case of a dad messing with his son? Well, whatever it is, it surely deserves a spot on this list. Just look at the bewildered expression on that baby’s face!
34. Luke, I am your father…
We’re betting this dad’s a huge Star Wars fan and it looks like he’s hellbent on turning his son into a fan as well. Nothing wrong with starting them young, right? And it seems like he started with buying him his first Star Wars merch.
35. You raise me up.
This father and son duo was at the stores to buy a toilet plunger but had no way of testing it. So, naturally, this dad got his son to volunteer as a test subject, and it seems like it works very well.
36. No food will go to waste.
A mom would just wipe the ketchup off with a tissue, but only a dad would think of licking ketchup straight off his baby’s face. Hey, we get it. Ketchup is still ketchup whether it’s on a burger or not.
37. Dad took her shopping.
When mom was too busy, dad stepped in to take his daughter shopping, and this is the fabulous result. She will definitely stand out in school with this show-stopping matching ensemble.
38. Just your typical father and son play time.
This father and son spend some quality time together playing video games on their day off. In just a few more years and this little boy can finally join his dad’s team on missions. But for now, he’ll just be watching.
39. Here’s a face only a father could love.
Now this one’s a classic. While some people like pinching babies’ cheeks or kissing them, this dad got other ways to show affection to his little one. Unfortunately, we’re pretty sure mom’s not going to be happy about this.
40. Hello, Clarice…
She may be too young to watch or understand her dad’s favorite film, but she sure can dress up as the infamous Hannibal Lecter with his mouth guard and all. But if you look closer, you’ll see she’s got one of her own.
41. Just a little nightcap…
Oops, it looks like someone drank too many shots of whiskey with his dinner. We bet dad had a good laugh when taking this picture. He probably even posted this hilarious picture on social media.
42. Who doesn’t love free stuff?
Dad always joked about giving her away when she doesn’t behave, but she didn’t think he would actually go through with it. We just hope the mom didn’t come home to this scene.
43. Hang in there, kiddo.
This little girl’s arms were too short to reach the water, so her dad came up with a creative solution. And… it was a success. Just look at the smile on that girl’s face as she literally hangs in there.
44. You’ve gotta pay tribute to the greats.
When this dad finally got the chance to dress up his kids for the day, he decided to pay tribute to one of his favorite cartoons. Okay. We confess. Actually, mom dressed them this time. She just couldn’t figure out why dad was laughing so hard.
45. She was blown away.
After cleaning up the backyard one fall afternoon, this dad put the leaf blower to other uses before returning it to the neighbors. Nothing wrong with a little fun, eh?
46. Did someone ask for a remote control car?
Part of the joy of being a dad is constantly making dad jokes and bad puns at your children’s expense. For more proof of that, just consider this very literal interpretation of a remote control car. The son doesn’t look too happy… but we think it’s pretty hilarious.
47. Buckle up!
It’s great when your children become more independent and set off into the world on their own. One of the big milestones is learning how to drive… still, it’s also a pretty terrifying milestone. Why not make light of it by completely humiliating your kids while they learn? We’re taking notes from this dad.
48. It’s a whole new kind of bring-your-kid-to-work day…
The dads of the world have all kinds of different jobs and thus all kinds of different worlds to bring their kids into. You can teach them how to build things, how to balance a checkbook and how to… properly examine breast implants? We’re not sure what’s going on here, our dads weren’t plastic surgeons.
49. Now that’s some serious commitment to family.
The general stereotype is that parents want to prevent their children from getting too many tattoos. At the very least, they want them to be of age and they want them to think carefully about getting them. Still, not all families are the same as this picture perfectly shows. How are you going to tell your kids not to get inked when your back looks like this?
50. Sometimes we get a little too competitive with our kids.
Look, we get it. Dads always have to prove that they can one-up their kids, and that means they have to be able to beat them at all kinds of different activities. Though that makes sense when they’re teens, it doesn’t always make sense when they’re tiny. To put it more bluntly: trampoline dodgeball is not necessarily the time to dunk on your five-year-old.
51. Decorating faces never gets old.
Baby faces are already so cute that it’s almost irresistibly tempting to add a little more decoration of our own. If you’ve only got some black construction paper nearby, you make do with what you have and you come up with something like this. What do you think? We’re pretty impressed.
52. We know he meant well, but come on…
When you’re a dad, you’re bigger and stronger than your kids are for quite a long time. That means giving them piggyback rides, picking them up and walking around with them and so much more. It can also mean doubling up with them on a bicycle where you do all the cycling… just make sure you pull your pants up enough, first.
53. Like we said before, multi-tasking is very important!
Being a good parent means keeping your eye on many different things at once. You have to make sure your kids aren’t getting into trouble, often while they’re running around, playing with other kids and who knows what else. In moments like this one where your kid is having a drink, it’s important to find a way to get yourself some sustenance as well. Nice job, dad.
54. You can turn so many different things into temporary cribs.
Like we said before, keeping an eye on your kids while doing other things is of tantamount importance as a father. Though usually that only applies in chaotic situations where a lot of things are going on, it also applies when… you want to play video games I guess? Still, that drawer actually looks pretty comfortable from what we can tell.
55. Dads get tired too, you know.
The great thing about a stroller is that you can go out and explore the world with your baby or toddler without your little one getting too tired. Still, what people don’t take into account is that dads can get pretty tired from walking around and pushing their kids all day. Another thing people don’t know is that dads can fit pretty comfortably into strollers in a pinch!
56. Who needs a shopping cart when you’ve got a stroller?
[slideshow_type=desc num=56]Shopping with a toddler can definitely be a challenge. You’ve got to remember to get everything on your list while still keeping the kid entertained… and if you’ve got to push a stroller around, it’s hard to also push a shopping cart around. Fortunately, this dad came up with a solution: absolutely bury your kid in groceries and keep it moving. Genius.
57. There’s no telling how much trouble a dad and his son can get up to without supervision…
Make a cake for him to take to school, they said. It’ll be easy, they said. Still, what nobody expected was for dad to make some interesting creative choices when it came to preparing the cake! We’re sure that it tastes delicious…. it just doesn’t necessarily look very appetizing. Still, it’s going to look great in the family photo album!
58. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
As we’ve already established, decorating your kids is pretty fun. When they’re young, you have enough control over your children to make them wear whatever you want, take whatever pictures you want them to take and generally have a lot of fun with them. Still, sometimes you get a look like this one when you put a banana peel on your baby’s head. Hey, you live and you learn.
59. There’s no way she’s wiggling her way out of this one.
It’s a well-known fact that babies and toddlers can be pretty fussy about being put down for the night. Though babies like to feel safe and swaddled when they go to sleep, they often find ways to shake their blankets off or drop them when they’re out walking around. Fortunately, the dad behind this industrial-strength contraption had a solution to that notorious problem.
60. Ok, now this is taking it just a little too far.
We get that it’s hard to keep control over a group of wild little kids. We get that you want to keep your kids safe at all times, and we even get that you want to have a little bit of fun while doing it. Still, we absolutely can’t condone putting three of your children in a doggie cage. No matter how hilarious the end result is.
