Fans have been following MTV reality show Teen Mom 2’s Kailyn Lowry for almost 10 years now. The reality show star appeared on the show after giving birth to her first son, Isaac, when she was 17 years old. Since then she has had plenty of drama in her life.
Kailyn married Javi Marroquin after only a year of dating in the fall of 2012 and gave birth to their son, Lincoln, the following year. However, it wasn’t happily ever after for the star. Teen Mom fans saw the drama play out between Kailyn and Javi, who continually accused the other of wrongdoing and being unsupportive. Eventually, Kailyn filed for divorce in 2015 while her husband was deployed overseas, though she says he knew the marriage was over before leaving. Their divorce was finalized in 2016. Javi went on to welcome a second son, Eli, with his current girlfriend, Lauren Comeau, earlier this year.
While many thought Kail was done with boys and babies (at least for the time being), she surprised fans by announcing her third pregnancy shortly after her divorce. She went on to welcome a third son, Lux, with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Chris Lopez. Though Chris refuses to be filmed for the show, fans have still gotten a lot of insight into the pair’s tumultuous relationship. It remains unclear if the couple is together or even want to be in a relationship with each other. What is clear, however, is Kailyn’s desire to expand her family even further. 20. SHE DOESN’T WANT A NEW BABY DADDY
On the same episode of Unseen Moments, Kailyn confused Dr. Drew and the audience even more when she revealed that she has no plans to have another baby daddy. So, if she definitely wants more kids, that means she’s going to ask one of her exes to contribute? Well, that’s what she’s thinking.
“Another… dad?” Dr. Drew asked her, which made the audience think of all the drama Kailyn still has going on between her three babies daddies. “No, I’m going to request [a donation] from one of them,” Kailyn said nonchalantly, without mentioning if she was kidding or not.
19. SHE WANTS TO HAVE ANOTHER BABY WITH CHRIS
In line with her comments about using one of her baby daddies as a donor, Kailyn has since revealed she’d specifically like to have another child with her third baby daddy, Chris.
“I kind of have that perspective now. In my book [A Letter of Love], I said that Lux will probably be my last child,” the reality star has said, US Weekly reports. “I would definitely have more, but I also know that my life isn’t really set up for another right now. Ideally, I would have liked Chris to be the father of my next child.”

18. AND SHE TALKED ABOUT MARRYING CHRIS THIS YEAR
Chris refuses to be filmed for Teen Mom, and Kailyn has always been vague about their relationship. So, it’s unclear if they’ve ever been in an exclusive relationship with each other. But what is clear is that things between them are both passionate and complicated.
There have been times Kailyn has sworn she wants nothing to do with her ex and other times where she’s talked about tying the knot with him. This past January, the reality star sent fans into a frenzy when she said they shouldn’t be surprised if she ends up marrying Chris.
“I mean, Chris and I are always together even when we’re not together. If that makes any sense. Don’t be surprised if you see a wedding in the tabloids the next month!” she said on the Watch With Us podcast.
17. BUT CHRIS DOESN’T FEEL THE SAME WAY
Chris is a pretty private man. With his refusal to film for Teen Mom and his limited social media accounts, fans have had a hard time getting to know Kailyn’s third baby daddy or how he feels about their situation. However, Kail has implied that he may not be as enthusiastic about more kids or marriage as she is.
For instance, this past February, a fan tweeted this to Kailyn during a TM episode: “Lux is so cute! I need @KailLowry to have another baby with Chris #TeenMom2.” The reality star actually responded to the post, writing, “Lollllll I would him on the other hand…,” followed by a series of unhappy emojis. Based on this, it sounds like Chris is okay staying a dad-of-one (at least for now).
16. KAILYN DEFINITELY WANTS MORE KIDS
Many fans assumed Kailyn would be done having kids after she welcomed her third son last year. And while the mama has definitely got her hands full, she’s been adamant about wanting more kids in the future.
Last August, Kailyn opened up about the subject to Dr. Drew Pinsky during MTV’s Teen Mom 2: Unseen Moments special. When she mentioned wanting more mini-me’s, Dr. Drew couldn’t hide his surprise. “What… you need another kid?” He asked her in disbelief. “Just one more,” the reality star replied, making it clear that she’s not ruling anything out.

15. SHE HASN’T VACCINATED HER 1-YEAR-OLD
Kailyn received an immense amount of backlash last January when she surprisingly revealed she hadn’t vaccinated her 1-year-old son, Lux.
“Lux is 18 months and he is not vaccinated. He hasn’t ever really been sick, and for me, I just think the more research that I do, and the more educated I’ve become, I just don’t vaccinate him,” she said on her podcast Coffee Convos.
“I mean, I guess the only thing I can really say and continue to stand for is to parent how it’s best for your child and family,” Kailyn continued, adding she felt guilty for letting doctors vaccinate her first two sons.
14. SHE SAID SHE WAS “DESPERATE” WHEN SHE MARRIED JAVI
Kailyn’s relationship with her second baby daddy, Javi, has always been tumultuous. The two got married after less than a year of being together because Kail was already pregnant and Javi was about to be deployed (that way, she could have access to his benefits).
Although there was a time when the young couple seemed truly happy, Kailyn has said she rushed into the marriage because she was desperate to have a picture-perfect family.
“When I met [Javi] he lied to me and told me he didn’t know who I was,” Kailyn wrote on Twitter about her ex last August. “I was young and ignored red flags apparently. What most would call desperate.”
13. BUT FANS THOUGHT THEY MIGHT BE GETTING BACK TOGETHER
To say Kailyn and Javi had a messy split when they divorced in 2016 would be an understatement. Both accused the other of various things and hurled insults on social media. That’s why fans were taken for a loop when Kail revealed early last year that she and Javi had been together since their divorce.
While many fans thought this was a sign the exes could get back together, Kailyn made it clear after his GF Lauren announced her pregnancy that it was never happening. “Javi and I are not getting back together so whatever you’re reading is all [false],” she wrote on Twitter last March. “How can you get back with someone who didn’t have your back when y’all were together?”
12. SHE’S CURRENTLY BEING SUED FOR CHILD SUPPORT
Usually, it’s the mom who sues for child support, but the tables have turned in Kailyn’s situation. Just last month, it was revealed on Teen Mom that her eldest son’s father, Jo, filed for child support. Evidently, he’s been paying for years despite earning less than Kail, and he was finally fed up.
“Never once did he mention to me that he was in any type of situation where he needed financial support or that he was even considering filing for child support,” Kail said on camera, expressing her surprise after being contacted by Jo’s lawyer.
11. SHE MAKES MORE MONEY THAN HER BABY DADDIES
When fans first met Kailyn, she was pregnant, had recently been kicked out of her home, and had to live in her ex-boyfriend’s basement (which is as awkward as it sounds). The reality star has come a long way now, thanks to the show and the opportunities it’s brought with it.
Now with a million-dollar bank account, it’s clear that Kail makes much more than any of her baby daddies. Sources say this is the reason her ex Jo has decided to file for child support. He finds it unfair that he has paid for so many years now that Kailyn is financially well-off.
“The scene with Jo and Vee [Torres] trying to trash talk Kail and how much money she makes compared to them was completely ridiculous, especially for anyone who knows what’s really going on behind the scenes,” a source told In Touch.
10. SHE’S NOT OPPOSED TO GETTING MARRIED AGAIN
Given that she’s been talking about marrying Chris, fans should take that as a sign that Kailyn isn’t closed off to the idea of marriage once again. Need more proof? This past February, Kail admitted that she’s just waiting for the right person – although she’s not in any rush.
“I always go back and forth with it, like I would never do it again. But, I think in the right situation with the right person, I think so.” She told Hollywood Life. However, she added that the person would have to meet her conditions: “Good with kids, job, car, some goals.”
9. SHE ALMOST HAD KIDS WITH HER GIRLFRIEND
Kailyn has dated both guys and gals, and at one point she was actually considering expanding her family with her then-girlfriend, Dom. Last June, after the pair had split, Dom revealed just how serious they were getting.
“We definitely talked about the future,” the 23-year old told Radar Online. “It was hard with me being in Jersey, so we discussed me moving to Delaware. Not necessarily me moving in with her, but close to her so we could have that family aspect we both wanted. I really liked the idea of family.”
However, as we’ve mentioned, Kailyn was adamant about using her ex Chris as the sperm donor. Dom says that’s one of the reasons she and Kailyn didn’t work out in the end.
8. SHE’S LOST MULTIPLE PREGNANCIES
Unfortunately, like her Teen Mom co-stars Maci Bookout and Catelynn Baltierra, Kailyn knows what it’s like to lose a pregnancy.
For instance, she was very open on camera about the loss she endured while married to Javi. Kail has said he was unsupportive and blamed her for the loss, which she says helped her make the decision to call their marriage quits.
“Before I got pregnant with Lux and had multiple [losses], my doctor told me I should be thankful that I have two healthy boys and what’s meant to be will be,” she once said to Us Weekly. “I kind of have that perspective now.”
7. SHE’S SAID SHE ONLY LOVED HER THIRD BABY DADDY
Kailyn’s eldest son’s father, Jo, is her former high school boyfriend. And she was actually married to her second son’s father, Javi, from 2012-2016.
Despite her complicated histories with both Jo and Javi, Kailyn has sworn that she never really loved either of them. She has said that she never experienced falling in love – or getting her heart so hurt – until she got involved with her third son’s father, Chris.
“I know, weird, when I had two kids with two other people,” she wrote on her blog last June about her relationship with Chris. “This was my first REAL heartbreak, where I loved someone and was IN love with someone.”
6. HER POSTS MAKE PEOPLE THINK SHE’S PREGNANT
Ever since she welcomed her youngest son, Teen Mom fans have been reading a little too deeply into Kailyn’s social media posts because everything she uploads makes fans think she’s expecting again!
For example, last July, Kailyn tweeted about feeling nauseous. Fans instantly jumped on the baby bandwagon, which caused her to release a statement confirming it was the stomach bug, not a pregnancy. “And no, I’m not pregnant. I believe I threw up bc I took ibuprofen on a semi-empty stomach,” she wrote.
And again, a few months later, Kailyn made a post about how both carbs and pregnancy make her pack on the pounds, which caused some fan speculation before she outright confirmed again she’s not pregnant.
5. SHE ONCE CALLED CHRIS AN ABSENTEE DAD
One minute Kailyn says she’s in love with Chris and the next she’s calling him out on social media! Last July, the exes were clearly on bad terms after Kail called him out for not being there for their 1-year-old son, Lux.
The reality star called her baby daddy an absent dad and went on a lengthy rant informing fans how he hardly sees their boy yet posts about him all the time. “Chris texted me. Chris saw that I was in Hawaii and now all of a sudden he’s asking where his son is.”
She went on, “But before I came here, he never asked me one time how his son is doing. So now he wants to know and now all a sudden he wants to see his son this week while I’m here…”
4. BUT THEY’RE CO-PARENTING A LOT BETTER NOW
Things were really rough for Kailyn and Chris when their son was first born – evidently, he didn’t talk to her for eight months after she told him she was pregnant. And despite their drama on social media and IRL, sources say the two have been co-parenting a lot better in recent months.
A source told OK! Magazine that the two were “good” and “they have been working on it.” Around the same time, Kailyn and Chris joined forces to plan their son’s first birthday together, proving they’ve definitely come a long way.

3. SHE ONCE ATE HER PLACENTA
One of the most controversial questions to be asked during pregnancy is: “What are you doing with your placenta?” Some moms are grossed out by it and want nothing to do with it, while others want to harness the supposed health benefits placenta has. Kailyn is one of them!
Back in 2013, after giving birth to second son Lincoln, the celebrity made headlines for revealing she paid $200 to eat her placenta. She describes it as a “not bad” price on social media, adding that she opted to take it in pill form like a multi-vitamin. Her then-husband Javi was evidently iffy about the whole idea.
2. SHE HINTED THAT SHE’S ONLY DATING GIRLS NOW
